CBSB offer a variety of Music Education Band Programmes in Different Settings that Cater for Children, Young People & Adults

 

Primary School Band Programme in Partnership with Music
Generation Cork City

The Primary School Band Programme is delivered in 6 primary school locations, this programme has a 2-part approach with opportunities to attend after-school weekly band rehearsals in a community setting and in-school instrument lessons during the school day in each school.

After-School Band Programme for Children & Young People in Partnership with Music Generation Cork City

The After-School Band programme is delivered in community settings catering for Children and Young People from 9 to 18 yrs.

The programme has a 2-part approach that includes Weekly Band Rehearsals and After-School Lessons.

It provides a progression pathway for students from the Primary School Band Programme and is also open to students with previous musical experience who wish to register.

It also caters for beginners.

Please note this Programme only caters for registered participants of CBSB who following registration can then register for lessons.

We are unfortunately due to limited resources unable to cater for applicants who are seeking lessons only. It is however possible to register as a participant of Barrack Street Band and partake in one of the bands.

Band Music Education Opportunities for Adults

The Adult Band Programme is delivered in a community setting catering for adults of 18 yrs upwards.

The programme has a 2-part approach that includes Weekly Band Rehearsals and Weekly Lessons.

It acts as a progression route for students from the After-School Band Programme and also caters for adults with previous Musical Experience in Wind, Brass and Percussion Instruments wishing to return to playing their instrument

It also caters for adult beginners.

Please note this Programme only caters for registered participants of CBSB who following registration can then register for lessons.
